A RADICAL SOLUTION TO THE LONG-TERM ISSUE
OF HYGIENE SECURITY

A new and technologically advanced water-based surface and utensil sanitiser will provide food and drink processors in the UK with a highly effective, safe, low cost and environmentally-friendly solution to the long-term challenge of maintaining secure hygiene standards.

The Radical Water System uses naturally occurring biocides, generated by advanced oxidation technology, to deliver massive reductions in harmful micro-organisms that can cause salmonella, listeria, e-coli and other common food hygiene related illnesses.

Effective against bacteria, viruses, yeasts and moulds, the Radical Water System works by running a powerful electric current through water to create unstable molecules of oxygen. In their frantic attempt to find other molecules to bond with, these literally crash into any micro-organisms they find, killing them on contact.

As the Radical Water System delivers a physical-kill it means that micro-organisms cannot develop a resistance, as happens with chemical-based sanitisers such as chlorine.

Extensive field trials, and tests with Campden and Chorleywood Food Research Association prove not only the effectiveness of the Radical Water System in delivering immediate sanitisation, but also show that regular use over time reduces harmful background micro-organisms, ensuring a consistently safe and hygienic environment. With ever-growing concerns over the long-term safety and environmental impact of chemical-based sanitisers, the Radical Water System offers food and drink processors distinct advantages.

The Radical Water System dispenses with the need for chemicals, using only naturally occurring substances which do not impact on the environment. The ozonated water created is completely safe to handle, leaving no taints or residues, and breaks down after use into water and oxygen.

The process involves less downtime than chemical-based sanitisers resulting in improved production efficiencies. Unlike chemical sanitisers, there are no hazardous substances involved and therefore no COSHH requirements.

Easy to install, the Radical Water System can be incorporated into the manufacturer’s existing infrastructure, requiring only water and electricity to operate. Initial investment in the Radical Water System has also been shown to generate cost savings after just six to 12 months as running costs are low and there is no requirement to purchase expensive chemical consumables.

Mark Fielding, managing director of Radical, says:

“In response to the ever-increasing demands placed upon the food industry, we have developed our revolutionary technology to create an unrivalled sanitising system. The Radical Water System is not only extremely effective in providing a long-term guard against unwanted micro-organisims, it does so in a way which keeps costs down for the manufacturer whilst at the same time being safe and environmentally-friendly.”

Radical has in-depth knowledge and experience across the food and drink industry and is able to offer bespoke packages for clients. For further information contact Mark Fielding on +44 (0) 161 430 8721 or visit www.radical.gb.com
